In this paper we present a characterization of statistical education problem based on the concept of learning. The value of motivation connected with participative learning and execution of applications of statistical methods to problems of the real world in the student's discipline context is pointed out. General guides for improving statistical service courses in reference to increasing the learning level ar included.
