Curvas de Intensidad, Frecuencia y Duración de Lluvias para Cali: Actualización y Consideraciones
Main Article Content
Hidrometeorological parameters were determined which control the present relationship between intensity-frequency and duration of rainfall belongin to 8 gauging stations of the Cali City (2 x 106 in habitants) located in the southwest of Colombia, Valle del Cauca Department. Methodic Basic Sequence, suggested by Chow, was applied with a strong management of data selection and arrangement of the yearly maximun and excedence series; the treatment was carried out using the probability distribution of the value maximun tipo I of Gumbel and the normal logaritmic distribution and comparing with the event representation considered through the empiric Weibull's method; the mean square error method was applied for the adjustment of the data series; the inherent parameters to the curve equations for each gauging station were fitted by using correlation models applying a computer program in spreadsheet. Evidence of existing biases were found for the previous curves parameters correspondent to the Cañaveralejo gaugin station and Cauca River Plant, Striking the design dimensions for the drainage urban structures for the city. It was confirmed that convergence of the equation parameters fowards a value of regional type doesn't exist, rather it dependes on the combination of variables involved within the adjustment procedure of the series. Gumbel distribution, along with the yearly exceedence Serie, is the probability distribution that better decribes the real events of short and intense rainfalls.
