Influence of deposit parameters on the Ni-Al-Mo adhesion of coatings by thermal spray
Main Article Content
In this research paper the influence of deposition parameters (flow, distance, surface roughness, and temperature) on the Ni – Al –Mo adhesion of coating was evaluated, using as an anchor- base layer on AISI 1020 steel. The results show that the flame temperature and the spraying distance have a great influence on the morphology and adhesion of the coating. Results of adhesion tests show that this increase when the dust is applied at a distance of 15 cm between the pistol and the substrate using a fuel atmosphere where the temperature of the fusion powder is greater. Likewise, the deposition parameters have a direct effect on the porosity and surface roughness of the coating which the importance of it is that this alloy will serve as anchoring surface coating on the coating deposited Ni-Al-Mo. The chemical, mechanical and microstructural characterization of the coating was made by SEM, XRF, Microhardness and pull off tests.
