The continuity of the electrical service from the source to the load is generally interrupted by faults at electrical substations. Because of that, the development of special procedures to restore the faulted element in a short time period is considered necessary. This paper presents the methodology followed to develop strategies useful attend non destructive faults in power equipment; substation, control, relaying, measurement, fault recorders and communication services in transmission substations from CTE Oriente. The goal of these strategies is to reduce the unavailability time of power equipment and as a consequence the reduction of the non-supplied energy index of the power system.
