This work presents the evaluation of the technological innovation process in some companies of the Colombian biotechnological sector, carried out by means of application of consultation instruments to their managers. The work has two parts: firstly, the study of the way by the companies assume the technological innovation and the different aspects that this involves, and an analysis SOWT of the biotechnological sector, supplemented with the experts contribution through a structural analysis, with which a key group of variables was obtained, which served as basis for the development of the second part, in which, by means of a benchmark study, it is analyzed the form in that innovation is implemented in the organization. Finally, strategies to short, medium and long term for companies and the biotechnological sector in general are raised, and it is intended their adjustment to other sectors and organizations where innovation is fundamental for their permanency and competitiveness.
